NOT Converted Shipping Containers!
Ordinary shipping containers cannot be brought up to UK Building Regulation Standards, and although our units may look like these converted containers, our ISO containers are manufactured from bare steel and the vast majority of our Customers prefer the smooth-sided finish they provide.
Apart from the construction and door mechanisms, the ISO Containers are actually empty underneath except for the wooden floors, so appearance is where the similarity between our units and the shipping containers ends.
Shipping containers are designed for cargo, as you would expect, and to be converted so that they are useable as a dwelling requires extensive adaptation, not to mention time. There are some big differences between a simple container and a container home, including the insulation of the outer walls, the indoor finishes and the materials used that need to withstand both outdoor weather and indoor use.

We also need to ensure that any materials, finished and paint used are suited to living conditions – a shipping container construction doesn’t have to consider health hazards because they only need to transport cargo, whereas everything in our housing modules are designed with this as a priority.
